World VIUPoints Speaker Series: Tourism and sustainability at Alberta's World Heritage Destinations; Understanding Mobile Device Use During Leisure and Tourism: Considerations When Incorporating Mobile Digital Experiences When Designing Visitor Experience.




The World Leisure Centre of Excellence at VIU (WLCE at VIU) invites you to our World VIUPoints Speaker Series presented by Dr. Elizabeth Halpenny on the topic of Tourism and Sustainability at Alberta's World Heritage Destinations: Brand Awareness, Heritage Appreciation, and Regional Tourism Promotion Choices. Meanwhile, Dr. Christine Van Winkle will present the topic of Understanding Mobile Device Use During Leisure and Tourism: Considerations When Incorporating Mobile Digital Experiences When Designing Visitor Experience. The presentation will take place on Friday February 10, 2017 from 10:30 to 12:00 in Building 300-Room Royal Arbutus.

Dr. Elizabeth Halpenny is the Associate Professor in University of Alberta. Her research focuses are individual's interactions with nature environments, tourism experience, and environmental stewardship.

Dr. Christine Van Winkle is the Associate Professor in University of Manitoba. Her research focuses are visitors’ experiences of festival, park and historic site, visitor learning and the effects of technology on visitors’ experience.
